DALE JOHNSON

My Pillar Pal!

I bet you didn't know that Dale loves romantic comedies!

Dale is very involved around campus! When he's not participating in booty shaking contests at leadership conferences in Puerto Rico, he's the President of The Minority Business Student Alliance, the President of the Undergraduate Accounting Club, the Executive Vice-President of the UNC chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, an RA in Craige Community, a Kenan-Flagler Undergraduate Student Ambassador and a Site Coordinator for Communiversity After School Program. Wow!

 His favorite activity in NRHH so far was the Christmas Party gift exchange and he's really looking forward to helping out with the selection process this year.

After graduation in May, he'll be working at Wells Fargo in Charlotte, NC.

What we do:

National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is an honor society at UNC that recognizes the top 1% of leaders in the residence halls. Our 4 focuses lie in Service, Recognition, Leadership and Scholarship. We do frequent recognition projects to highlight the positive contributions that others make for the UNC community. NRHH volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, community food drives and even Relay for Life. The organization has academic expectations as well and promoting excellence in extracurricular and housing life. As a member of the National Residence Hall Honorary you will serve on committees that enhance our community through recognition such as writing the Of The Month awards (OTMs), and by doing service projects such as adopting a family during the holidays or volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House. It is our job to be the eyes and ears of the community and acknowledge individuals when they make contributions to the residence halls. This chapter meets Tuesday nights (meetings, socials, community service) and we induct new members twice per year.

What we can do for you:

NRHH is a wonderful organization through which you can become more involved in the UNC community. Members are recognized at graduation, and proudly wear NRHH cords over their gowns. General body meetings will include socials and the opportunity to meet other student leaders. We have also organized guest speakers to enrich our meeting times. Our chapter frequents popular NRHH conventions that we travel to and win awards at the national level. NRHH is a very positive network of peers and advisors who support each other in becoming better students, volunteers and Tar Heels.

Member Spotlight

Congratulations to Jenny Bingham and Brandon Foster for receiving a participation award for the fall 2011 semester. Both Jenny and Brandon have attended all general body meetings and participated in the majority of our fundraisers and service events, always with a smile. Jenny and Brandon are enthusiastic about NRHH and we are proud to have them as members!
